Chair of Trustees – Asian Sports Foundation (ASF)

Location: Remote with occasional travel
Time Commitment: Approx. 3 days per month
Term: 3 years (renewable once)

About the Asian Sports Foundation

The Asian Sports Foundation (ASF) exists to improve health, wellbeing and community cohesion through sport and physical activity. We work with ethnically diverse and underserved communities across the UK, breaking down barriers to participation and creating opportunities for people to thrive.

As we continue to grow our impact, we are seeking an exceptional Chair of Trustees to lead our Board and support our mission.

The Opportunity

This is a pivotal leadership role at an exciting time for ASF. As Chair, you will:

• Provide strategic leadership to the Board of Trustees
• Ensure strong governance, accountability and financial oversight
• Champion safeguarding and uphold the highest standards of integrity
• Build a constructive, supportive partnership with the CEO
• Lead effective, inclusive and well‑run Board meetings
• Represent ASF externally with partners, funders and stakeholders
• Foster a culture of openness, challenge and collaboration
• Support the development and performance of individual Trustees and the Board as a whole

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about improving lives through sport and committed to advancing equality, diversity and inclusion.

Who We’re Looking For

We are seeking a values‑driven leader with:

• Strong governance experience and understanding of Trusteeship
• Strategic vision and the ability to guide long‑term organisational direction
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Confidence chairing meetings and facilitating constructive debate
• Experience supporting senior leaders, ideally a CEO
• Commitment to safeguarding and risk oversight
• A collaborative, diplomatic approach with the ability to challenge constructively
• Passion for ASF’s mission and the communities we serve

Desirable experience includes charity leadership, community sport, fundraising, organisational change, or working with ethnically diverse communities.
